i helped out on a volunteer team in northwest bc caving in old mine shafts and addits near a couple provincial parks. it was sad to see some of my old haunts get obliterated when i knew they were perfectly safe, but there are plenty out there that only the old timers and hardened explorers know about. mines can be very dangerous places, its better not to go near them or enter them unless you were trained in identifying hazards.
