An old railroad bridge I passed in Maine.

Aha! I knew this bridge looked familar – as a fan of abandoned railways, it’s exciting to find out when one of them gets un-abandoned. I heard about this a few years ago: “As of June 14, 2007, the abandoned Pan Am Railways spur was reopened, and the first train ran the length of the line for the first time in twenty years.”

The rails on that bridge end where they do because that’s how much space the engines need to clear the siding switch at the far end.
