I’ve never heard of it, so I did the Google, and listened to it. There’s a moment, in the opening, where he hits a minor chord for just a fleeting quarter note of a moment. When I heard that, I knew that the song would take me for a ride, and I was right. As the song became darker, there is the juxtaposition of one note followed by one chord followed by one note, where you can feel a sense of isolation through alienation. Of course, like all great stories, there is a happy ending. I got the sense of a great trial, as though a storm had passed through, but has now lifted. It leaves you feeling rejuvenated. I’m glad to have been introduced to this.
