Although this sub doesn’t explicitly state it in the rules, there’s usually an understood rule about handing out the exact location to the public. Before I get criticized for being elitist, I do share locations with people that I trust aren’t going to a location to scrap, tag, start fires, or generally destroy a place. I realize that not all people share my thoughts of the preservation of an amazing site (such as this one) for the next explorer to come through, but there are a lot of us that do.
If Johnny Joo wanted the site to be broadcast to the world, I would think that he would have provided it in the article that featured these photos. I visited this site a few times this year and was happy to see that it was graffiti free and in decent shape. I spoke with the owner who was very happy that people were interested in seeing what he has dedicated his life to doing. From what I understand, the popularity of this site and people sharing the location publicly has not been good for the trolley yard. It has been hit by vandals that have tagged some cars. In addition to the disrespect it has shown to the owner, future explorers (including myself) will not be able to have the same experience as what you see in the OP photo and others taken that day. So, although the “rules” of the sub don’t forbid sharing of the location, I ask those commenting to be mindful of what happens when a site gets “outed” like /u/kirbee has done. That is why I downvoted.
