To drive around all day and deliver ice cream it must have a big refrigerator. When I was a kid, before school, I used to ride with a milk truck, run up to the door, bring the empties and the order back to the truck, then take the order back to the customer’s front door (early ’60s). Made up to $4 a day-a lot of money back then. The milk truck will advertize the dairy’s products, but it’s not for selling ice cream along the route.
I remember hearing the ice cream truck on a hot day. The guy who drove it was named George, really nice guy. The stuff for sale and prices were on the side. Push Up Pop, Buried Treasure, Drum Stick, Popsicle &c probably most are still for sale.
Anyhow I remember both milk trucks and ice cream trucks well. I believe OP posted a picture of a milk truck.
