>That tank was commanded by Don Bulger [Donald F. Bulger – April 4, 1919 – August 11, 2012] from Lincoln Park NJ. Story goes that he had returned to the beach to protect a group of Marines that were being chewed up. Don was credited for saving over 200 Marrines that day. The tank was shot out from under him. Don is still alive but battling prostate cancer he is 92 years old.One of the greatest men I ever met.

Don’s [obituary](http://www.scanlanfuneral.com/fh/obituaries/obituary.cfm?o_id=1556675&fh_id=12119) mentions he earned 2 Silver Star Medals during WW II.
