Yeah, I guess so – but many people who do urban exploration probably have better ones.
For about twenty years, I’ve lived in squats or in vehicles on squatted land. Generally, the more abandoned a place is, the longer you can stay there before eviction and the lead likely you are to be causing bother for anyone else. Some of the more fucked buildings have needed a lot of repairs, but it’s good to be able to leave a place in better condition than you find it. I’m happy with the place I’m living now – it’s right in the centre of a big city, has an abandoned tower block on – though not as big as the great block in this thread! – and it’d been empty for twenty years before we arrived ten years ago. We live in trucks and caravans in the yard around it and have managed to get the place quite nice with a lot of gardening work. We don’t (usually) go in the tower block, at the owners request.
