It’s a hotel that was finished after WWII, so it’s not exactly “modern” and at 365 rooms I’m guessing it’s maintenance costs would be really high and this would be before any modernization. there is no electricity and water inside now so it’s likely it would need re-piping. It’s also likely that this was designed with few bathrooms shared between many rooms. So it’s not really acceptable for today’s tourists.
Would you pay to share a bathroom with many for the same price when you could rent a room at the Hilton 5 kilometres away that each has it’s own bath w/cable & wifi
It’s a lovely building but the renovations required to bring this up to today’s standards will be in the many millions.
